Marcela Levi (1973, Rio de Janeiro) is a performer and choreographer. She graduated at the Angel Vianna School of Dance, was a resident artist at the art center Les Recollets (France), at Artistas en Residencia Program - Casa Encendida / Aula de Danza (Spain) and, together with visual artist Laura Erber, she received the Batiscafo grant.

Since 2002 she has been developing projects that straddle the boundary between contemporary dance and visual arts, promoting a choreographic writing aimed at non-linear narratives and bodies. Through her work, Levi searches the activation of deviant bodies-situations. Her projects - Imagem (2002), Massa de sentidos (included as one of the top ten jobs in 2004 dancing in the list of the newspaper O Globo), In-organic (Klauss Vianna Prize 2007, Rumos Dança Itau Cultural Program, included by the British organization Artsadmin in "The top 40 illustrated guide to 2008", quoted three times in the 2008 yearbook of the German magazine Ballettanz and included as one of the top ten jobs in 2007 dancing in the list of the Jornal do Brasil) and Around the hole everything is edge contemplated by the Funarte's Fellowship Program to Stimulate Artistic Creation 2008, included among the dance highlights in 2009 by critics of the newspaper O Globo and awarded the Recognition Award ZKB / Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Zurich 2010) - have been shown in several festivals and art centers in Brazil, Europe and Latin America: ImPulsTanz Festival, Les inaccoutumés - Menagerie de Verre, In Transit, In presentable, Rencontres Choregraphiques de Seine-Saint-Denis, Kunsten Festival des Arts, Nottdance, Arnolfini, Chapter, International Dance Biennial of Ceará, Solis Theatre, Panorama Dance Festival, among others.

Meanwhile, Levi collaborates with artists Lia Rodrigues, Vera Mantero, Guillermo Gomez-Peña, Lucia Russo, Dani Lima, Claudia Garcia and Manuel Vason, among others.

Her most recent work, Monstrous Nature was contemplated by FADA - Fomento à Dança, the Municipal Culture Secretary, 2011.
